May 15th Recap

Hey everyone! This is Shannon, the new member of the board. I will be recapping the highlights from the shows. Behave now! Kiss kiss!

May 15th Kay and Abi recap
Just some highlights from the May 15th eppie.

After a three week hiatus,

1) Abi was drunk off her keister. She is on tour and she got a new house! YAY!

2) Kay’s new record for audience attendance: 2 people. But that’s okay, she loves her craft.

Kay and I had an interesting convo about original plays versus the 20th rendition of CATS. Why is the latter more popular? Why do we crave new stories but when we get it, it’s weird so we comfort ourselves with unoriginal things?

3) Metal Revolution: Brought to you by Metal Headbanger’s journey. It covers the history of heavy metal with different interviews, including: Geoff Tate (Queensrych). Look for it on November 11 on Vh1 Classic and on Much More Music Canada. Other documentaries worth watching: Metal a Headbanger’s Journey

4) James Hetfield part of a Q and A at a Central Christian Church in Arizona. Talked about growing up without a father. A documentary called ‘Absent’ which is about absent fathers. Talks about the usual scary subjects for dads and his relationship with his son. Rock stars are dads too.

5) Abi wants to learn how to cook

6) Look for Vegan Black Metal chef on youtube to make Pad Tai. It’s vegan! Just don’t headbang!

7) KISS Kruise oct 13th-17th. Go to Miami, Nassau and aboard Carnival Destiny.

8) Ozzy Osbourne: no Ozzfest for 2011. He will tour but not in America.

9) Spiderman reopens in June 14th at the Foxwood Theatre. Preview on Friday.

10) Rock of Ages is still happening. Alec Baldwin has ‘cold feet’? He is staying.

11) Tony Season coming up: Adaptation of Alice in Wonderland closed. No nominations. Baby It’s You still bumping along.

12) 60s anthemic troubadour Bob Dylan in hot water with fans over some shows he performed in China. Bob censored himself. Dylan went to website and disclosed a statement. Chinese authorities asked for his set list ahead of time. All Along the Watchtower, Rolling Stone but anything with a questionable lyric was censored.

13) Birthdays that rock: May 15th-21st. Andrew Eldridge (52), Aldrich Zappa (33), Janet Jackson (44), Enya (50), Trent Reznor (46), Bob Saget (55), Rick Wakeland (62), Tina Fey (41), Pete Townsend (66), Phil Rudd (57), Cher (65), Guy Hoffman (57), Ronald Isley (70), Mr T (59)

14) Cream Quiz. Abi thought it was about Ice Cream. From metalplus. Band or ice cream flavor? Coconut Fever? This is Nuts? The first one is a band, the second one is a Ben and Jerry’s Flavor.

15) Next week: Supergroup series. First off, CREAM!
