Debate table:
Gene Simmons Family Jewels: are Gene and Shannon finally splitting up?
Kay and Abi: One hundred and fifty percent nonsense.
Abi: I don’t mind it being scripted. I watch it from time to time. It is cheesy. I am frustrated that they went to other shows and played into it.
Kay: Timeline is eyeroll worthy. We saw it in late March and it is late June. A ratings kick!

Crosby, Stills and Nash!
Crisby, Stills, Nash, and sometimes Young a sometimes Trio or Quartet
Roots go back to the 60s
Crosby (Birds), Stills (Buffalo Springfield) Grant Nash (The Hollies)

U2s guitarist The Edge: A story from two years ago about a proposal to create mansions overlooking CA. The proposal was rejected by the CA Coastal Agency. Called it the ‘greediest proposal in the world’.
According to staff at the coastal commission: “We have never seen a project as environmentally devastating as this one!”
Reviews for Spiderman: PEEE YOOOO!
Crosby/Nash/Stills night:
Neil Young is like the Energizer Bunny. He has a new live album out called ‘A treasure’. A career retrospective.
Carole King-rich tapesty. Wants to write a book, A Natural Woman will be out next April. She is now an environmental and political activist. Named Carole Klein. No relation to Gene Simmons.
Magic was undeniable between Crosby, Stills and Nash. The sound was electric and considered ‘fresh’. The Beatles label, Apple did not think the same. The new group was picked up by Atlantic. They decided to make the group name ALL their names. One group made up on individuals a la Simon and Garfunkel.
Metallica released their own version of Monopoly. Go look on the band website. ACDC made it to the list of the highest paid musicians. May 2010-May 2011. ACDC tied with Beyonce at #18!!
Gene Simmons: band is doing well in the studio. All songs are arranged. Paul is producing. Said ‘Men without hats’ is a crappy name for a band. ‘You will never get laid with a name like that’.
Family Jewels: Whole family has a scheduled appearance at a casino. (??????)
Vh1 will premiere Celebrity Rehab 5.0. Steven Adler is back.
In May 1967, CSN released self titled debut album and it was a hit. They were expected to tour but they were short on personnel. Names were around. Steve Winwood was one of them but he was busy with Clapton. Something about a group called ‘Blind Faith’.

Classic rock news
1) Joan Jett and her former Runaway bandmates filed a lawsuit against a tribute album that was supposed to come out in June. They cite not getting permission. “It’s not about money, it’s about preserving their reputation.” The record company’s response: 36 bands have donated their songs as a tribute. This was also done to fund cancer research. Net proceeds will be donated to Sandy West who lost her battle with cancer. Various individuals who worked on the project were associated with the Runaways in some way.
2) According to Women’s World Daily: Steven Tyler will serve as the muse for new Charles Andrew Menswear line. It’s a rock n roll menswear line that will be available in Macy’s this Fall.
3) Music Journalist Will Romano’s New book about progressive rock artists such as Yes, Crimson, Incurable Blues. Mountains Come Out of the Sky. It is available at all bookstores now.
4) Rush is coming out with a new DVD this September 27th. It will feature footage from April 15th’s performance in Cleveland, Ohio. The DVD will be called Time Machine. They are working on their new album Clockwork Angel.
5) In Paris, a fan, Christophe Maillet opened a bar in Paris who wanted to honor Jim Morrison and the Doors. He received a letter from Door’s legal team that they do not want to be seen as promoting ‘drinking’. Ironic, isn’t it? “The Doors do not want to be seen as having approved your establishment and also the consumption of alcohol.” The drinks are also Doors themed. Maillet: “I didn’t do it to destroy the Doors, I did it to make them happy.”
6) Journey’s new album is coming out. About its creation: It is called eclipse. Neil Schon turned ‘belligerent’ when he had to work with Kevin Shirley. It is a return to their ‘progressive rock roots’. 9 out of 12 songs are over ‘five minutes long’. Currently on tour and triple billed with Foreigner and Styx.
7) It is that time of year where Kay goes back to the theatre award. It is Tony Awards Season. Tony Awards will be at the Beacon Theatre. Book of Mormon, Catch me if you can and yes, Sister Act!
8) Neil Peart does not like drum solos: In the early days, they would ask him to play ‘In da gadda da vida’ and he would say ‘Why?’

Deep Purple kicked off Summer tour before they go to Europe. When will they put out a new album? They have not been on hiatus but it has been six years. The album is like capturing a moment in time”-Deep Purple
